Missions keep watch
on Papua New Guinea Situation

Mission societies in Australia are keeping a close watch on the situation in Papua New Guinea and are keeping in daily contact with field leaders.

Meanwhile the PNG National Prayer Centre continues with its aim to raise 500,000 people to pray for the upcoming elections, in their Operation "Brukim Skru" (Kneel to Pray).

Kirk Franklin of the Wycliffe Bible Translators and Chris Pittendrigh, Director of Ministries for the ABMS (Australian Baptist Missionary Society) both reported that they are "carefully monitoring the current political crisis and have daily contact with field personnel".
