Kurdish Martyr

Martyrdom of Mansour Hussein

On the morning of April 21, Mansour Hussein was killed by a shot in the head in a Christian bookshop in Arbil, Iraqi Kurdistan. He was discovered by a co-worker on his arrival in the bookshop. Mansour was an evangelical believer, a Kurd from a Muslim background. He was bold and fearless in the witness of his faith. Fellow Christians in Arbil say that there is little doubt that he died as a martyr testifying to the truth that is in Jesus. Mr. Hussein leaves a wife and an 18 month old son.

Christians in Arbil are issuing an urgent plea to the Body of Christ around the world for special prayer. Pray for Mansour's wife, son and the co-worker who discovered his body. Pray for other believers in Arbil that they might stand firm in their faith. They are specifically seeking spiritual support before the Lord God that the shedding of the blood of Mansour will become the seed of the church in Arbil.
