At a meeting in Washington, a divergent group of speakers issued a call for an end to violence on the nation's streets and announced the upcoming 5th Peace and Justice Gang Summit.
"One God, One Nation, One Stage," is the theme of the event that will bring more than 100 gang leaders and members to the nation's capital June 12-16. Jerald Scott, who has attended previous summits, has spoken of the transformation that occurred when gang members embraced Christ.
She points to the issues of violence prevention, economic justice, and justice in health care and employment as "pertinent concerns" for people of faith.
